Vesterålen and Lofoten 2006

We got up late and took a walk along the beach before breakfast. The weather was nice again. We put out the safari room in order to get it dry again.
Then we had breakfast and at 12.30 hrs. we left Skagen. We went to Nusfjord again, which is a very nice and picturesque little village.
We contined to Sund, where we visited a blacksmith and some nice small museums. There were old marine motors and some of them were still running! In Sund we got the information that the road to Reine should be closed for five hours. So we had a lot of time to spend in this nice village and in all those small museums.
In the afternoon we drove to Reine. We bought some shrimps and smoked salmon. On the road between Reine and Moskenes we saw the reason why the road had been closed before.
Large rocks had been falling down and the road was damaged and we could even see broken poles laying around everywhere. It was looking terrible! Fortunately nobody got hurt.
We went to Mosekenes and found a quite nice camping site. We even went to Å, the most southern village on Lofoten. We found a camping site there, too, but went back to Moskenes anyway.
When we had installed ourselves on the camping site in Moskenes we took a nice walk. We found a lot of quartz minerals.
For dinner we had the shrimps, bread, ajoli and white wine. It was delicious!
We went to bed quite early since we had to get up early next morning. We wanted to take the ferry from Moskenes to Bodø.
