Vesterålen and Lofoten 2006

We got up at 8.30 hrs. It was beautiful weather again! After two rainy days the sun was finally shining again! Everything looks much better when the sun is shining!

After breakfast we put down the safari room and continued on road number 17. In Storvik at the Sundsfjord we had a break. There is a beautiful sand beach, where we've been some years before. We had some coffee and then we took a walk at the beach and found some nice shells.

It was 20 degrees warm! We drove through tunnels and passed a lot of mountains with snow covered peaks.

We came to Ørnes and found a optician who should repair the glasses. We even went to "Vinmonopolet", the Norwegian liquor store. The assortment is impressive, but so are the prices... Ørnes is a very nice village.

We even passed the glacier Svartisen. It looks great! Later on we took the ferry between Forøy and Ågskardet and between Jektvik and Kilboghamn, where we even passed the northern polar circle again.

We were drivning and driving and driving without finding a camping site. There are two camping sites in Mo i Rana, but we did not look for them. We came to Sweden again and continued driving until 23.45 hrs.

We spent the night somewhere between Mo i Rana and Umeå. We slept very well.
